production. There are differences in dimensions, of course.
In addition, the LM model is available in either a very hard, very tough
plastic called Delrin with a stainless steel cross-pin, or in aluminum,
for those who don't trust plastic; the others are made of aluminum with
a stainless steel cross-pin. (The larger threading of the Losmandy
mount safety screws explains the difference in materials.) The cross-pin
is a positive locking ball pin with a push button release. To remove
it without pushing the button requires 9200 pounds of force. If you
can remove this without pushing the button, I do not want to shake
hands with you!

plastic--the Quick Release Toe Saver LMAL is available in aluminum instead
of Delrin for $55. All the dimensions and specifications are the
same--but instead of Delrin (which is strong and easy to machine) the body
is now in aluminum (which is stronger, and not so easy to machine).
